Our CA HOA BOD(3) of 140 single family homes(1986), well funded operating/reserve budgets, were asked to post lawn signs "day of bimonthly meeting" with local meeting address and and Virtual ID #. BOD Quorum (2/3) oppose "HOA Member Meeting" signs to included Virtual ID# number and local address, which makes announcing meeting moot. Comments?

We stage A-frame signs in our community advertising the annual meeting but do not include the link to the meeting. We do e-mail blast to the entire community a link to the Board meetings for any homeowner to observe. We stage a-frame signs only for the annual meeting and not for the monthly board meetings.

Michael, Great suggestion. Prior Covid, there was more member interest and participation in HOA issues. 3 years later(now) and after many months of relying 100% on PMC (erroneously), I am trying to regain the "community" spirit we once had. I am awaiting our member EM list so an EM blast would be an excellent way to notify 140 homeowners of bimonthly meetings. Home ownership changes + apathy, + lack of knowledge has changed the tone in our neighborhood. I think your suggestion might be THE ANSWER. Thanks!!!!

I'm not sure I understand the question. What do lawn signs have to do with posting the day and time of board meetings? If the meetings are held in a clubhouse, why not post a sign there (it's what we do, and the meeting dates are also posted on our website) Or send an email blast with a link, as Michael's community does?

If it is not right do not do it; if it is not true do not say it. Marcus Aurelius

Shelia, I think our responses crossed in the clouds before meeting. I always enjoy your responses. We have no community buildings, etc. We have one small locked Bulletin Board that most members are unaware. We have our on-line portal; again, many (?-most) are unaware. Our 140 homes-on 7 separate streets- has a void that I feel could be diminished with some inexpensive effort. Michael's EM blast is an excellent suggestion; Our PMC never suggested this, although managing us for 6 years? Again, thanks.

Our management company send out a Board agenda, date of and time of the meeting along with the zoom link.

Our PM e-blasts reminders of the regular monthly board to owners with th link for Zoom attendees. works great. On that same e-blast, you might remind folks that there is a website, ect.

It's great you're trying to s establish a sense of community in your HOA, Jackie. A monthly newsletter, e-blasted to all residents and to absentee owners too, can help a lot.

Hey there! Virtual ID for member meetings in property management sounds like a convenient solution. It's great to see and hear about technology being utilized to enhance HOA meetings and streamline the process.

A little off subject but does your HOA actually have a place for those not on Zoom (or whatever Virtual Platorrm) to attend the meeting and if so, how are you providing Zoom access to those physically attending (Projector, TV, etc?)

James, yes. My home is open to our bi-monthly meetings, supporting our documents that require a local location. I purchased a ANKER Bluetooth & USB Speakerphone from Best Buy and had young neighbors show me how to attach it to my computer, use it(LOL). Actually easy, peasy! We are a blended community of all ages (single family homes), and with post-Covid, several of us enjoy the togetherness of Open Meeting seesions here. HOA apathy also exists because "everything is wonderful" until it isn't, which means it suddenly affected you.
I use several methods to alert owners of meetings. Property Management has their ways of discouraging attendance and transparency. Onward!

However, I know about fake id online https://fakeyourdrank.com that never fail a test, so I'm just curious how it is going to deal with such IDs. Anyway, thanks for sharing, and good luck!
