I see that Augustin's post count has gone to zero.
This is typically an indication that someone has resigned from the forum.

If this is the case here, I think this is the third or fourth time Augustine has done this.

The cool thing is you can reopen your account at any time by registering under the same name and same e-mail. He said he was going to take a break, so I expect he will be back soon.

Augustin is a wealth of knowledge, but gets a little intense to look at every HOA issue through a legal view. Many of the issues that are presented here are not legal issues, but he seems to immediately take the legal view. Since he is often the first to respond, the legal view then is the direction the thread goes.

Right, aug wrote "hiatus." Agree that the practical day-to-day topics HOA leaders deal with can get lost in so much reference statutes & to case law, etc. BUT these are good reference materials that can help in sometimes very specific situations.

As leaders of their HOAs, certainly directors need to keep asking themselves, if a decision to do x, y. or z places the assn. can imperil it in a legal sense. But, I, too, like to see more typical examples that all HOAs deal with pretty regularly. And we get more of that, imo, from Tim, Cathy, Shelia, Lori, Barbara of TX, JohnT, a couple of Bills from TX,Mark, and a few others that I'm neglecting. Max can be very helpful when not insulting posters.

Interesting. I was unaware of that.

Right, aug wrote "hiatus."

What I don't understand is why resign from the forum vs. simply not going to the website if you want a break and plan on returning.

I missed that... Maybe he is coming to Alabama to visit? Everyone needs a break every now and then...

because it lets people know he's not here. He's one of the best posters around and people get used to his free helpful advice, and know he wont' be here to help them. besides, who cares, he can do what he wants.

I actually care and I am sure others here too. We didn't always see eye to eye. Plus took different approaches. However, I still have respect to a fellow long time poster who takes their time to help others. That is after all what we are here for. The whole time I was in my HOA had no support system like this at all. Plus many of the websites were filled with complainers than resolvers. We here support those whom both want to be board members and those whom don't. There are very few resources out there helping Board members.

Augustin is okay with just dropping off. Will give them some time to regroup. It's the holidays. Enjoy the time off until we see you again!
