I have some interest in doing a podcast. Have all of the equipment for a variety of reasons.

Has anyone here heard of a neighborhood / commuity podcast?

Part of me feels that I need to find a different hobby.

There are podcasts on all types of stuff, so why don't you Google the subject? I think most podcasts are designed to attract thousands of people- what is it about you ir your community that you think lots of people would want to hear about?

Personally, I think you need something else to do - is the arch rival hitting your reserve nerve that you now feel compelled to post whatever thought bubble forms over your head ?

I think it's good to put energy into your passions and hobbies. This is not a bad idea as long as you're not planning to use the podcast to bash board members or other people in your community.

I think people may confuse this as a meeting. Once they hear a board person speak they tend to think it is law even if u officially discussed.

Michael,

Try it out and see if you get traction. Keep it informative and resist negativity or opinion-making in regard to your community (if you can resist the temptation).

If you are going to host a podcast that is HOA related while you are president of the same HOA is a bad idea.

I agree. One director, particularly one who identifies him/herself as the HOA President, speaking in a public venue will almost assuredly be misconstrued as the voice of the board.

Be careful in that you as host cannot control the message.
