I had what I thought was a benign post questioning the appearance of conflict for a board election.

Did this post violate the rules of engagement? I opened a ticket via the help option, but thought I'd ask.

Thanks
John

They do remove posts based on some posters responses. Which someone may have crossed the line on or it got "spammed". Sometimes people can't handle their emotions and cross the line.

I missed that particular post, but the subject matter sounds appropriate. We've had many discussions about apparent board shenanigans in the past, and some heated exchanges about a variety of topics - all of those seemed to be OK. Moderating forums like this can be tough. Aside from the hard and fast rules that can identify clear violations, there are gray areas that can lead to inconsistencies. Sort of like dealing with CC&R violations, in fact. :-)

Maybe if you don't hear from the mods in a few days, try to re-post?

I'm seeing your earlier post:

Maybe the board had a temporary technical issue.

Weird. The link works fine, but when I click on "HOA Discussions" in the upper right, the thread is not listed, as though it were in fact deleted.

I see nothing, zilch, in the post indicating a violation of the hoatalk terms of service.

These are the posting rules, did you violate any of them?

We have only a few other rules:

(1) Post any relevant topic you like, but please keep it clean, helpful, positive and friendly.

(2) No Selling: No solicitation, advertising, or selling of any kind is allowed here, except for occasional announcements from official site sponsors.

(3) No Mention of Community/Company/Person Names: In order to fairly enforce (2) and prevent liability, we do not allow the mentioning of any community name, company name or product. Please also do not post the full name of any person.

As with Douglas, above, I see JohnC73's post about a possible conflict of interest concerning the role of director in election activities. (I noticed no rules violations.)

You might see of another browser works, or clear the browser cache. Worst case clear cookies but then you'd need to login again.

I get the impression that John is discussing a different thread then the one Aug posted a link to, as the one Aug's link points to is there "Subject: Running for Board from floor of Annual Meeting - Good stategy or conflct?"

My bad. I suspect I had an issue with my browser cache. I saw the post for a little bit then it disappeared.

The support team responded to my ticket and set me straight.

Sorry for my user error.

John
