I just want to make a public shoutout to the HOATalk members who have dutifully answered tons of questions that I've posted.

You see, the Board that I work with, as with many Boards, is a bit apathetic. How apathetic? At the moment, meeting attendance is a struggle. If we can't get people to attend meetings, it's mighty hard to make decisions and harder still to execute decisions.

However, the folks here are interested in HOA matters and have thanklessly answered a ton of my questions. I wish to share one example of how you, as anonymous internet posters, are improving our community.

Recently, I posted about a homeless person living in a vehicle in our community. There was some chatter, and some poster made a comment about where are they going the bathroom. The next time that I drove past where the homeless person was parked, I noticed that a homeowner has a porta potty adjacent for her construction crews to use. I had our property manager request that she lock the porta potty, which she did right away.

Haven't seen the homeless person since! This greatly improved the safety of our community and helped bring a much needed change.

This is one example among many where your ideas and suggestions are making the community in which our HOA operates a better place. I greatly appreciate the suggestions, even when some of you are puzzled at the rapid fire nature of my questions. They help frame our discussions and help us be successful.

Thank you, HOATalk members.

I’m happy it worked for you!

Around here, we’ve had several incidents where homeless people just used the sidewalk.
