Has anyone done event planning for HOA events?

We are trying to plan a neighborhood movie night and trying to figure out if we should pay for a portable restroom. One would cost about $400 which I really don't want to spend the money on, since everyone has bathrooms in their homes and no one from outside the neighborhood should be attending the event.

Not sure if anyone has looked into criterias as to when portable restrooms are justified.

Thanks!

My criteria would likely be based on duration and type of event.
2-3 hour event, no.
4+ hr event, might consider it.

Think the site needs to start collecting consulting fees.

I also think it depends on the number of people you think will attend. The money for the portable restroom might not be worth it if 20 people are planning to attend. But if you are looking at 100, then the cost per person goes way down.

Also, how big is the community? Is it reasonable to ask someone to leave, in the middle of the movie, and go several blocks to their house to use the restroom?

I'm with Lori. Maybe if it's a whole lotta ppl. for a long time. We know, Michael, that you have parks and assume the films would be shown in one? Also assume that many residents would drive to it?

I see Steve has chosen to be a juvenile mini-Max. What a shame.

Kerry,

There is a level of value-consciousness that's reasonable, but that train departed the station a long time ago. First we heard about getting vendors to pay for movie night for a 280 (?) home HOA. That's done.

It sounds like someone failed to plain thoroughly and now we have a thread about porta potties. Get the vendors to pay for it or get your HOA to pay for it or don't do anything, but this thread need not exist. Call Honey Bucket.
