Is it still a result of Covid or are there still vendors that don't or cant get parts to repair gates and such?
I am just having a hard time believing that the gate company don't have replacement parts on-hand and we have to leave
the gates to the community wide open. Are other communities experiencing the same delays or is it time to change vendors?

That is going on for many items. The reality is that there is not enough supply for demands. Took me 3 months to get a fence installed.

Many industries have supply chain issues - you've heard of the current baby formula shortage, and some car manufacturers, like Ford, have had trouble getting computer chips to install in their vehicles, so delivery of new cars and trucks has been delayed. Labor shortages caused in part by COVID - which lead to the great resignation (aka "Take this job and shove it!") also leads to the shortfall. And then there's assorted conflicts around the world, like Russia trying to start WWIII with Ukraine Ukraine is one of the world's largest suppliers of commercial fertilizer and all the bombings and what not is causing a shortage there.

We just interviewed candidates for our PM position. We asked them all what they don't like about their current jobs. All of them said the exact same words - getting vendors to do actual work. Parts and labor are in short supply. We wait months for vendors to get parts to repair things like lights, gates, fountains, irrigation, etc. Then we wait for them to do the actual installation since they are all short handed. I think this is happening everywhere.

I have been aware of the chip shortage. One plant the many top manufacturers used experienced a fire in Japan. One manufacturer of two-way radios had to scrap their two-way manufacturing because
of this loss. There are several other companies that used this one plant. To complicate matters worse, otter countries are scaling back production and shipping. I went to Catalina back several months ago
and was just in shock by all the container ships anchored off port waiting to enter.

Just checking to see if we are being played or if there still was an issue, I know there still is a labor shortage with the landscapers.
