We just had a new election of members in March our Board President is gone until Nov. So i do not understand why our new elected board member will not take over until Nov.

Are the Board meetings done by Zoom or something like it?

Can the BOD make Quorum without the President there? I say if so, an election can be held. Also easy enough to do on a conference call. Whoever says to wait until the President in on site is jerking you around.

The President can still be President even if he is away until November. Most declarations do not require that the Board member actually live on site.

I'm not sure what you mean by take over. If you mean take their position on the board, that should be in the governing documents, e.g., a specific date or immediately after the annual meeting. If you mean take over for the absent president, there should be a vice-president to act as president anytime the president is not present. If there is no vice-president, the board should pick another member to be acting president.

The president is just one director. Their absence should not change or delay the business of running the association.
