We have been holding fun bingo games in our club house for years (we are a condominium in Florida). They are not associated with the 'official' Social Committee from our HOA/Condo Association. The bingo jackpots are quite small (well under $100 grand prize); and smaller payouts for small games. All monies collected are paid out the same night. Are we within our legal rights to do this, or are we only legally permitted to attend 'Social Committee' bingo games?

Do not run it under the HOA at all. Nothing wrong with residence getting together to enjoy a good time. Just do not do it with HOA funds or claim HOA event. The HOA let's you rent or use the clubhouse. That is the extent it should be. Otherwise you could be paying taxes for that fun...

If not associated with the HOA then have at it and enjoy. Just a bunch of friends getting together to pay games.

Whether it's legal or not depends on your local laws regarding gambling. This is true whether the event is HOA sanctioned or not.

As far as whether it's allowed by your association, that depends on what rules your association has for use of the club house.
