for amending governing documents, do we need to have a full roster of how each Member voted or simply a record of the final count? I can't really find any good say one way or another on this.

Why need to know how one voted? In the end it is the total of members who voted and signed. You need 75 percent vote to make a change to file as example. Once you get that percentage what does it matter?

I would keep a roster with the lot number/unit number plus the vote for each (yes, no, abstain, did not vote). I'd also check with your association's attorney to see if you need to keep the owner(s) names as well.

You need an audit trail in case someone challenges the validity or outcome of the vote.

I guess your Bylaws or Idaho don't require secret ballots, Adam?

I agree.

I might even recommend the Board get a safety deposit box and save all the ballots in it. Why? Because of the many times I have read an owner here say there is no evidence that a vote to amend was proper.
