Thank you. I did try to check, but don't trust my research skills. Yes, we do have some stipulations in the Bylaws. No timeline or details of who starts the process (i.e., directors or committee).

You will need to verify this info, but the last time I did it for our VA association, which was several years ago, we had the following (board met monthly):
meeting minus 90 days Establish nominating committee (we named the board a committee of the whole)
Meeting minus 60 days Contact meeting place to schedule (we used the local school - it was free, good parking, etc)
Establish Agenda for Annual Meeting
Meeting minus 30 days Send Notice for Annual Meeting
Notice with Place/Date/Time
Proxy Form
Any Attachments
Formalize Annual Meeting:
Agenda
Prepare Reports:
Presidential
Treasurer:
Income & Expense Report
Budget
Recommendation for next years Assessment amount
Website Committee
Architectural Committee
Ballots
1 or 2 weeks prior to meeting Assign Election Officials (typically bookkeeper & secretary)
Print Documents for Annual meeting
Hold Annual Meeting
Elections
Get Contact info of New Board
