The link I posted on low effort thinking sparked a nice conversation - don't know if this will be a repeat, but here goes...
This one talks about private equity firms buying up loads of apartment buildings and renting them out (and turning them into ratholes or close to it). This doesn't go into single family homes in detail, but I believe Cathy and one or two others have noted the same thing is beginning to happen in HOAs. Read it and ponder at your own risk....
