I may have posted something similar in the past, but here's an article from the Harvard Business Review on best practices for holding meetings. There have been lots of posts lately on meetings, especially since many of us have HOA annual meetings coming up. Considering some of these tips may help board meetings, annual meetings and special homeowner meetings run more effectively so you don't feel you need to down a bottle of Jack Daniels afterward to calm yourself down! Enjoy!

I'm admittedly one who often feels like I need a complete bottle of Jack Daniels after Board meetings, so this is right on time. Thank you!

Nice, Shelia. Our current president does a fine job presiding, but he never makes introductions assuming all attendees know who they are. I think a greeting & welcoming and introductions (if any) area good way to ease into a board meeting.

Sorry,to clarify-- introductions of guests, usually experts of some kind or maybe our attorney. Almost every month at a board meeting there is one new owner who has no idea who the guests are. Board members names & titles are on their faces at Zoom meetings and on little signs at the meeting table for in-person attendees to see.
