Any recommendations on web site services? Looks like community123.com offers a setup service, along with bondware.com and athomenet.com and several others...

Thanks!

As you may have seen, Community123.com built HOATalk, so you are seeing a sample of the technology here. The big difference in Community123.com and the others you mentioned is:
(1) Much Lower Price
(2) Free Build: We build your entire site, load your content and let you try it free for 2 months. Bondware charges $1,500 to set up only 5 pages for you!
(3) Free custom features

Community123.com is a leader in the field with almost 10,000 members on HOATalk and many satisfied website customers. Email [email protected] for more information if you are interested in a free trial.

I recommend Community123.com. The web site is fantastic and much more than myself or HOA expected. Doug is superb with suggestions and helping with the
updates. LOL...I have become a hero in our 140 HOA.

We went to our Local High School in Computer Science class and asked if any one would like to do a special project and worked out the details with the Teacher. In two months we had our web page up and running. Gave Credit to the School and Teacher and Student as a community project.

All is working well and at no cost to the HOA. Other than domain name.

It did not cost any thing to set it up as stated just filing for Domain name. It is now updated by other student in class.

Bondware's $1,500 is to set up only 5 pages and communities need more than that. Community123 sites start with dozens of pages built free. Community123 plans range from $20-$40/month (setup is free).

Now to your question on Bondware: Bondware has a base plan but they charge extra for most interactive features. Best I can tell, to match the baseline Community123.com site, you would pay Bondware $85/month or more. I'm getting this from their website.

Hi

Before we chose I spent about a year researching costs of websites and hosting programs.

Bluehost hat the best reputation for price, administration and reliablity that I could see, but there are a host of others.

Do you want to do all the site maintenance yourselves. It can very quickly eat up a lot of your time.

I did a google search for reviews and comparisons on website hosters/ providers and for administrators. Its a project!

Try 123,com. With 2 free months and $ 30.00 amonth it won't break your bank. Try their demonstration site first.

It all depends on what all you want to do with your web page. To have a security number for home owners only to access and add comments and not for the general public to see, or have a board portal, then yes that will add cost you’re your web page. Also if you want all members to have a way to add their comments. You or your board needs to make a decision as what all you want your web page to do, and then set up a line item budget.
