subdivision perimeter fence

the backyard of my house has a subdivision perimeter fence of concrete materials. it has shown a crack of about three inches now and I am scared that it eventually might cause that fence to fall backward to a vacant lot owned by another. I have reported this to the HOA office for action.
whose responsibility is it to fix the fence?-
my house itself is not in anyway connected to the subdivision perimeter fence, but my property fence is.
please help resolve. thanks.

What do your governing documents (that thick wad of paper you should have received before closing on your home) have to say about who owns the fence and who is responsible for repairing it?

What does your deed show about ownership and where the fence sits?

If I had to guess - and it's just a guess - it's likely that the HOA owns the fence and is responsible for fixing it. If the fence actually sits on your property, there's probably a maintenance easement of some sort giving the HOA the authority to come onto your property to do repairs.

But to really find out, you're going to have to ask the board (or developer if you're still under developer control). Start with your property manager if you have one.

Does this perimeter fence surround the neighborhood and/or many units backup to it? If so, I can only see it being the responsibility of the association unless you docs specify other.
