What is your association doing for NNO?

I had to look it up. Doing nothing.

We aren't doing anything either -sadly, this has become a community where people (the adults antwag) rarely interact with anyone. That said, I like augustin's ideas.

Since NNO is supposed to be about improving police/community relations to enhance crime prevention, this might be a good idea to invite officers from the local office to stop by, partake in a community meal and meet the neighbors in a festive environment.

Or....doing a neighborhood clean up project,especially if graffiti has been a problem. The faster you get rid of The tags, the more you may discourage such behavior.

For us, it is a neighborhood festival. Years past, we have invited real estate agents and other vendors to set up booths advertising services, food trucks, bounce houses and face painters. We also had police and fire fighters attend in years past.

This year we are doing a smaller celebration. No police, fire, bounce houses, or face painters. I plan on setting up a pop up tent with table and chairs and doing a meet and greet with homeowners. I think the meet and greet is particularly valuable since we have moved to an online meeting format.

I am going out on a limb by setting up a comment box for homeowners to offer comments on whatever is on their mind.

I tried once with the National Night out but nothing really happened. Maybe kept our porch lights on. In my area it's more common that the more crime prone areas do stuff. Usually the police will have a party of sorts somewhere in that community.

It may be because our area/city is pretty low crime. We have neighborhood watches in many neighborhoods. I think we have had more police officers arrested. So hanging out with the police isn't something want to do unless calling them for a report of a crime...
