What kind of balcony privacy screen does your HOA allow?

Our railings are more than four inches a part, which I guess means homeowners can place screens that mitigate the risk of a small animal or child falling through or getting stuck. What kind of screens does your HOA allow? I’ve seen lattice screens, bamboo screens and even completely opaque solid screens. Which ones are your HOAs okay with?

All of that I understand, I just wanted to know what other HOAs have approved.

I guess you're a condo building, Jamie? Our balconies have a pony wall and then glass around them, so we don't have your issue.

I think your Architectural Guidelines will tell you what, if anything, you may attach to your balcony's vertical slats. Or, what, are you speaking go actual horizontal "rails?"

Also check the architectural section of your CC&Rs. Your balcony probably is "exclusive use common area <' and there might be certain rules about them. Ours, for instance, do't permit us to screw, nails to attach anything to our balcony walls, ceilings or rails to a void possible water intrusion into the building structure.

We allow none, but we are in a Historic District and they also have a say on what is visible from the street.

i'm on the 19th floor!!! i put some small trees up. though my gard is close enough to the bottom of the balcony that nothing can fall through but water can pass through when it rains if needed
