Per previous posts, I’m hoping the HOA will interject with my noisy upstairs neighbor. There’s been two officers that came by on previous occasions and both made it come across as I was difficult, I should consider a single family home and the neighbor is entitled to be loud in the late hours. I have provided two police reports to the HOA from those visits, I spoke with the lead officer at the precinct and they updated the notes to reflect my side better. Moving forward, I only plan to bring recordings to the HOA and wanted an officer to come by if it happens. This time, instead of them knocking on her door, just listen as a witness and write the report. The neighbor quieted down by the time the officers came, which is why I’m hesitant to call them over again. I will record in advance but that’s useless to the officer, it only matters if it takes place when they’re there. The HOA only requires either a police report or a recording, should I ask an officer to come by as a witness?
