Ralph, I assume you actually mean Officer Positions (e.g., President, VP, Treasurer, Secretary).
A Board Member is a Board Member . . . there's no position differentiation from one to the next. Typically Board Members also fill the various Officer Positions, but it's not always a requirement.
That said, typically Officers, among themselves, are able to switch positions with general agreement of that happening between the other Officers/Board Members.

Are you on the Board, Ralph? Whether or not you are, read your Bylaws, which tell you how officers are elected.: usually by the Board, so the Board also can vote to permit the switch. Our Board just switched the VP & treasurer at their request.

Do note that officers aren't always directors so look for that in your Bylaws too.

If not in your Bylaws, check your Articles of Incorporation.
