Hello all:

I am new member of HOATalk and am situated in a condo association in Morristown, NJ. I would like to begin a discussion about the DCA’s association regulation unit and the unit owner complaint form they provide. I submitted a complaint over three months ago and am waiting for an update.

The complaint was related to denial of financial access, open meetings with binding votes and refusal to provide ADR (alternate dispute resolution) procedure. Unfortunately, we have been burdened with a board that does not understand condominium laws in NJ, nor do they appreciate their role as fiduciary to shareholders (aka unitnowners). Luckily, our governing documents are detailed and have most of the requirements of the NJ Condo Act. This is the first complaint for me so I hope to have a positive experience.

Has anyone else on this forum had experience with the DCA’s Association Regulation Unit? Any success stories? For anyone that hasn’t seen this unit owner complaint document, here is the link -

Best wishes,

CG

C'mon John, if you were that busy you wouldn't be here.

I no nothing about the subject so I can't help but there are a lot of helpful people on the forum so I'm sure you will get some good responses.

Welcome Chaotic.
