What do you mean by severing from a HOA? If an individual homeowner wants to not be a part of or the HOA wants to dissolve? Appurtenant to membership, need more of the sentence.

I don't believe it is possible if the property was part of the original HOA and is recorded on the deed restrictions. I guess the two scenarios I could see it being possible is if the HOA granted this (don't know why they would) or if the HOA itself was dissolved. Dissolving is a tough proposition, you would have to read your docs.

No, you cannot "sever" yourself or your property from an HOA.

Your HOA pays for landscaping , water and lighting, possibly streets, pools, taxes, etc. That's where your dues are spent. Do you think you should not pay for these things and thst your neighbors should take up the slack?

"Sever" yourself, well actually you can. It's simple - sell and move.
