Does anyone know if there are any good resources for the development and the implementation of (a) crisis communication plan(s) for the management of conflict events and conflict resolution breaks? The resources should also include how to manage the communication aspects of other crisis events as well (road damage, water leaks, etc).

Thanks,

Google can be your friend if you let it. Start with "crisis management Homeowner association" - I tried it and saw several resources you can start with. You can do the same with conflict resolution. Some of the resources aren't HOA specific, but they really don't have to be. There are principles you can adapt to your community.

You might also contact your local Red Cross and fire department - they may have information on disaster planning for individual households, but you can extrapolate that to your community.

Shelia,

Thank you for your response. I will perform a google search and check it out.

My interest is in learning the tactics used to help diffuse the negatives reactions and criticisms with regard to the decisions/actions/image of the board into a positive, not only by showcasing the board's response but by continuing to provide information and positive communication after the immediate crisis has passed. I believe, from my long history in the water/wastewater industry with utilities, that a board may actually be able to IMPROVE their standing with the community after a major confrontation/conflict by properly communicating with the public.

What I am interested in is how boards restore, manage and maintain a healthy public image/perception, especially after the board has made some missteps in recent history.

I will Google that as well, but if you or anyone else can recommend something specific, that would be most helpful.

Thanks,
