In California, is it required the community manager be a licensed real estate agent and/or broker?

Young,
Best advice is to use Davis Sterling as your research. This is the Bible for HOAs in Ca.

No real estate license is required or even appropriate, imo, to manage an HOA. As MarkM says, go to davis-stirling.com, Index, Property managers to see what, if any, requirements there are.

There is certification for property managers that our HOA requires, but the state does not.

What size is your HOA?
