I'm seeking experiences and advice from anyone whose HOA has installed a comprehensive security camera system, especially in a garden style complex.
The technology is constantly improving in this area.

You need to consider power requirements, recording capability, how the recording will occur (wireless internet, cabled, cellular), and you better have a policy on the actual recordings, who will have access, how long they will be kept, etc.

The policy needs to be in place prior to the system being installed (at least in my opinion)

Cameras should be only in public areas.

Side note: Check your statutes.

You may be able to record visual images but be prohibited from recording audio.
If you are not sure, check with an attorney or the local police dept.

Cameras should be only in public areas.

We have 2 Gaming cameras that are focused on 2 dumpster areas mounted to parking lot light poles They record on motion and are wifi.
Also we had to install 2 wifi repeaters due to the distance from the office.
Picture quality is great (4K). Been 2 months and haven't had to change the lithium batteries yet.
