I suppose your documents say something similar, but your question sounds like you haven't read it. That's where you begin and look for any dates. If you don't see anything, take your documents to a private attorney and have him or her take a look.

While you're at, have a look at the rest of your documents. You may want to pay special attention to the CCRs which dictate his the common areas are to be used. You may also see rules on things like pets, making exterior change request, etc. There could be more detail on how and when the association would need to enter your unit.
