Has anyone ever dealt with a Master Association that has lesser requirements (ACC guidelines, enforcing upkeep, etc) that has decided to come and supercede a functioning sub association that has been very successful? The sub association has more strict and successful Architectural Guidelines in place and have complete follow thru.

My understanding is the Master is the Master. The sub answers to the Master. The master should have the same doc's as you possibly more, that pertian to the general population of the whole HOA. If the Master is not doing it's job, enforcing the rules, they have to answer to that. If your sub is following the rules, they cannot randomly over-through the subs authority, there has to be cause.

Check you By_laws, it should answer this problem.

We understand the concept of the Master, ie if a sub association fails, or no one runs at the turnover then yes they step in. Our documents and rules and regulations are actually more strict than the Masters they have more homes in the outside communities that are not even at the minimum requirement of the Master much less ours. Yet their main goal is to get inside our gates.. Priorities are all screwed up. We own our road, gates, we pay liability insurance, we pay for all upkeep, we are incorporated. We are the only ones that pay two HOA fees all of the other communities pay only the annual fee. Our bylaws are the problem there is not defining statement or if there is we are missing it.
