Liquor at the clubhouse.pool

Ae there any legal findings that says we can or cannot have alcoholic beverages by tenants at the pool or at the clubhouse? At present, we do allow tenants to have alcohol at the pool but have said no to bringing alcohol into the clubhouse.

Adults use our community pool always have a plastic water bottle or other plastic drinking container. Yes, myself I have brought a rum & coke, wine or a beer in my plastic tumbler.

It only becomes a problem when people get boisterous and the alcohol starts talking and security or the police are called.

We do enforce the no smoking rule, no smoking whatsoever. we had a couple that brought a hooka bong to the spa, after being told not to light it by another owner, they ignored him. The owner called security, filed a complaint with the HOA and the offender was fined by the HOA.

When it comes to HOA sponsored community events, the only beverages served are soda and water NO beer or liquor,

I think an official policy "forbidding" alcohol is wise at the pool area and in the clubhouse but it's really unenforceable. However, a clear "no booze" policy puts the onus on the pool and clubhouse user to abide by the rules or to use clandestine measures to avoid detection and thus be overtly flouting the policy should something happen that could raise a legal stink.

Fight glass at the pool without regret.

Fight open drunkenness at the pool, which can sneak up on people sunbathing in summer.
