We have a board member that says “Top Violations” as a title is “an unnecessary projection of frustration” and doesn’t help our appearance... What are some other ways to name this section of a newsletter??

What is the Boards intended purpose of having that section?

Simply to bring attention to the most noted violations and make the new community members aware that these things aren’t allowed... Examples are trash cans should not be seen; temp bb goals are not allowed without written approval
; all exterior modifications need written approval, etc....

I don't have any problems with "Top Violations" as long as the owners aren't identified. Of course we live in a politically correct world where people overthink anything...

How about:

“We Can Do Better”

Keep it positive. Stop scolding

No one would ever be identified. We merely want people to understand what it is to live in an HOA. Just because your neighbor does something, doesn’t mean it’s ok for you kind of thing...

We simply do reminder topics in our newsletter.

For example:

As a reminder, trash cans can not be placed on the curb for pick up until after 6 p.m.
See document, article, for more information.

We do reminders as well. We also say "thank you" to the many who help keep our community attractive.

I completely agree with Sue. Make a list of positive words and only use them in your News items.
