When HOAs lose lawsuits, particularly lawsuits by owners, how do HOA boards react?

* Do they do a full review of what happened, and what went wrong, so that they can avoid a loss in the future?

* Do they review their choice of counsel and property manager, if those two had anything to do with the loss?

* Do they basically try to get their house in order to avoid future problems?

Or do HOA boards simply vent at the owner and make their anger known, without making changes to avoid a future loss?

Losing a lawsuit includes having to pay the owner, even before a court decides that the HOA lost.

Thanks.

Paul,

Since it was asked and not answered.

Are you doing research for a book or article?

No, not doing research. But someone ought to write an article about this topic- I don't have time. I'm just curious.

Sounds like a lot of wishful thinking on how you want others to react. Kind of like going to court and dropping a "bombshell" that will blow the case wide open kind of stuff. Wow look at everyone's reaction etc...

Honestly, after a lawsuit think a HOA usually goes into 2 modes. Either they want to appeal or prevent. If they think they were right, then appeal. If they were wrong, then lick their wounds and find the best way to pay off/move on.

Not sure what reaction you want. My HOA was never sued as we wouldn't knee jerk react. Any reaction or decision will be under a microscope right or wrong. If your not on the board, then it's not your decisions to make.

John, people in Greenville are all nice and get along, at least on the surface. Let's stick with the Greenville way.

Just looking for real-life stories. Your post is helpful. Thanks.

Well of course the posters here know how every board, everywhere would react so this is a perfectly reasonable question.

Sounds like this question didn't go over too well.

Everyone, thanks for the responses, and please consider this question withdrawn and this thread done (at least for me).
