So our condo is looking to add a fence and gate to our community, the board had a meeting to discuss with owners and a representative from the fence company to answer questions, the board voted on one of the bids. A proxy and information sheet was mailed to all owners with a meeting date.

The informational sheet has this sentence: "WE WILL NOT DO A SPECIAL ASSESSMENT OR WILL NOT RAISE YOUR MAINTENANCE FEE" The proxy simply asked for owners to choose yes or no on whether they approve the installation of the fence and gate, no mention on the cost or financial impact to the association, shouldn't the project cost and financial impact be on either the proxy or information sheet?

Is it unreasonable to expect this information on the mailing?

Maybe this is just a gauge on if this is worth the effort to do? No one should go with a project if majority of people don't want it. So could this be in regards to collecting opinion information? A special assessment would be a different vote altogether.
