Does the HOA have limitations and boundaries - - - specifically related to homeowner privacy? Seems that they can walk on your property at any time, interrogate your guests, and peek in windows, all falling on the "we are the HOA". My understanding is that they have the right to enter the property for maintenance or emergency not just because they are curious about who is at your home. I have one neighbor that is always snooping around - how do i stop this? It comes down to direct harassment at times, nit picking everything.

That one person isn't acting as the HOA. They are acting as an individual. Depending on how your HOA is set up, depends on how they can access your area. Our HOA you owned the house and the lot it sat on. Everything else was considered "Common property" thus owned by the HOA. Which meant members could access the property as they all owned it as part of the HOA. Other HOA's are not set up this way. However, wanted to point out a scenario where that is plausible.

Otherwise, if this person isn't acting on HOA business, then call the police. It's personal. The HOA doesn't provide a cone of silence or bubble of protection to live under. Just to make sure everything looks nice enough for someone to purchase your house at a good price.

Remind the person who claims to be 'the hoa' that Florida is a 'stand your ground' state.

There are laws regarding maintenance and emergency entering of properties. As far as snooping, I'd simply call the police. A visit by law enforcement telling him he cannot do that will quickly change his mind.

Your might check your own documents, Nancy, about under what circumstances the HOA can enter your private property.

police.

someone snoops in my windows and i know they are being nosey, im calling the police. i dont care what their excuse is. they do it again and the police come, there is a good possibility that person is going to jail.
