I could swear that I read somewhere that HOA's in Texas are required to meet at least once per quarter for board meetings but when I try to find it in the 209 law I'm either missing it or it doesn't exist. Internet searching doesn't seem to help either.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I see nothing in the Texas Residential Property Owners Protection Act; the Texas Nonprofit Corporations statute; or the Texas Uniform Condominium Act requiring either HOA or Condo boards to meet at a certain frequency. I also could turn up nothing via googling. The relevant statutes are linked at https://www.hopb.co/texas

Do your Bylaws give a frequency?

Just checked both the By-Laws and Covenants and they only mention a requirement for an annual meeting. I guess I'll just have to accept that I have no clue why I ever thought they were required every quarter.

Thanks!

Jared, you may wish to expand your search in the documents of your association for Board meeting requirements.

Every set of HOA or condominium bylaws I have seen require an annual meeting of the members (the Annual Meeting), and some number of meetings of the Board of Directors. The two are not the same although I suppose they could take place consecutively on a single day.

I have two sets of Bylaws open on my desk, one specifies Regular Meetings of the Board on a quarterly basis, the other requires at least two such meetings annually. The first set is dated 2016. the second set 1981 so I imagine requirements for Board meetings range all over the map.

With Bill, Jared, make sure you look for BOARD meetings in your docs..

It gets confusing because the bylaws might say annual meeting of the members. But that does NOT mean members of the board of directors, it means members of your Association, i.e., homeowners.
