There is a battle in our HOA over how the board is structured. Apparently, some hold the view that there are two boards: the executive (president, VP, secretary and treasuer) and the directors. Each has their own meeting. Others hold the view that here is only one board and should be only one meeting.

Glen, HOAs have only one Board of Directors. The Board of Directors consists of Directors, who are normally elected as Directors, to the Board; and then the Directors elect officers. Everyone on the Board is a Director and some of the Directors are elected as Officers. Thus they are listed by titles of President, VP, Secretary, Treasurer, and the rest of the Directors normally are listed as a Director. What may be confusing is the term Executive Board. I think that a large Board of Directors often utilize an Executive Board which includes only the officers.
