I live in Louisiana. The Louisiana HOA statutes do not specify when the developer must give up control of the HOA. I understand there are some states, such as Florida, that specify that the developer must give up control when a certain percentage of lots are sold. Can anyone tell me which states have such laws, so I don't have to go through the statutes of each state one by one. Our development is completely built out. The developer no longer owns property but still refuses to give up control of the HOA. Obviously making money off of management fees from our dues. Thinking of petitioning our legislators to create such a law and would like some data.
