Our HOA calls for a 7 member board. Since last Oct. (2018) it has been missing a board member. We had the elections this Jan. still they did not replace the member. Excuse? She/he is in another state training. What action can a homeowner take? If any?

As long as a quorum exists (which would be 4), business can be conducted.

Based on your posting, it sounds like the seat is filled but the individual is unable to attend due to work having them out of town (for the moment). This isn't a problem.

Another satisfied customer. Didn't hear what they wanted to hear so they leave (post count 0).

Geno,

I think she felt insulted vs. shopping for an answer.
Laverne had a lot of questions, which was pointed out and, I believe, taken the wrong way.

Yes, I see that now. I might have misread her overall situation because I didn't see all her other threads before replying above. I actually do hope she keeps reading and re-registers here.

I am sorry that my thoughts weren’t more clear to Laverne. I did not mean she should not post, but that she was posting so often we needed broader, AND, more specific info in order to under the why of the number of posts.

My bad.

Hi. It sux that this can happen. I know because we had the same situation here. Here's the part that blows: Our bylaws say that the board may chose a replacement if they wanted to. In our association, the members are elected to 2 year term and if that's the case with your situation, then I must presume that the missing member has been in office less than 2 years. Don't worry, y'all will get a chance to vote them out. May I ask you a question? Do y'all have many members that don't show up to meetings or don't vote? I have a theory and was just wondering.
