Homeowners in our community have just received their 2018 budget ratification meeting notice and budget ?packet... minus "proxies". I served on condominium boards for 38 years and have never NOT provided proxies for the budget meeting. When I spoke to our "new" property manager he said it isn't a requirement. Is this correct?

Do your bylaws require proxies, Noreen?

That says proxies are allowed. It does not say they must be mailed out to people.

Addition: We send out proxies to obtain a quorum. We do not vote on anything with that proxy.

Noreen have you been able to get this remedied? Are they now allowing proxies for owners not being able to be present at the meeting of the budget ratification meeting for the rejection of the new proposed budget? I am asking this because our management company which looks over our HOA is saying that they don’t have an obligation to mail us out proxies. In 2018, the legislation in WA made it easier for HOA‘s to increase dues because it becomes such a cumbersome matter and difficult to do and with expenditures however seems to me they are taking away your voice. Has anything further come of this? Thank you for your reply.
