A squirrel entered the chimney and became trapped. The blocking mechanism that prevents these occurrences failed. Who is responsible for any necessary repairs in a case of this type? I’m if you want to

YOU are..

Do you pay for annual chimney sweeps? Even if you're in a single family home, condo, townhouse; you are responsible for the maintenance, and you darn better make sure the person you hire is licensed, insured and bonded.

? Condo here. HOA is responsible for chimneys including the flues. The fireplaces are on individuals.

Paul, we cannot know your HOA'd governing documents. WHAT do youCC&Rs say about who's responsible for fireplace chimneys??

Is it possible the developer still is? Or is your HOA under owner control??
