Is a recorded transcript of the minutes of Florida Association considered an official record of the association

Many associations will record their meetings and then transcribe them into the minutes. Once done, the recording is then, or should be erased.

To the best of my knowledge, NO, they are not.

Transcript refers to the written form, and yes they are official records of the association in Florida.

Are you implying they are recorded with the county?

That's somewhat dumb.

Didn't sound to me like Jennifer was implying they should be recorded with the county ... just that they are official records of the HOA.

When whoever writes the draft minutes, they should only include what was done--motions, action taken-- not discussion, debate, etc.

The board then approves the minutes and they become part of the official record and must be kept forever.

Official records include minutes and financials, those of course would not be recorded with the county, but they are official records in the context of FS720, which requires making them available for inspection by members.

Ok, so if they aren't recorded with the county, was the meeting recorded?

I thought it was pretty clear that the OP was referring to audio or video recording, not the act of recording documents in the public records of the county.

It is what I thought, and unless that recorded, if it was a recording, was motioned, seconded and approved, does not make it an official transcript of the association.
