Upstairs condo neighbor's washing machine mal functioned due to owner disconnecting washers drain pipe and then improperly connecting it. Daughter, unaware that Dad has improperly connected drain hose on washing machine, proceeds to run the washer.
Washing machine floods upstairs laundry room and lanai. Water comes down in to my unit and wets drywall and ceiling.
Water remediation company called in and does its due diligence in lower condo unit. Upstairs neighbor pays for mitigation in downstairs unit but says he cannot afford mitigation in his unit. Water remediation company finds his subfloor which is plywood covered with three inches of concrete and ceramic tile overlay wet. States it must be dried out.
Upstairs unit owner says cannot afford to do anything. Home Owner's Association general manager says association has no responsibility. What do I do? My unit is compromised, either from mold, or a possible cave in.
I would appreciate any advice.
Thank you very much.
