This week we had one attempted robbery and one armed robbery on our property; both incidents involved vendors (this has never happened before). One vendor was preparing a quote for the HOA and the other vendor was a cable technician performing routine maintenance and not called out by the management company. Neither vendor wanted to file a police report so the HOA called to report both incidents. In addition we alerted our County Community Police officer for our area and he is going to increase patrols of the area. The President of the management company called me to express her concern for the safety of our property manager. I explained that we notified law enforcement and would be meeting with residents to explore other safety measures such as security cameras. She was very happy to hear that but then asked if someone could be onsite whenever our property manager needs to inspect or visit the property. Myself as well as the other board members have jobs so that will be next to impossible. Would it be wrong if I suggest that someone from their company accompany our PM when she does site visits or is this the responsibility of the board?
