Privacy information leak by BoD/Management

Some people believe that who ever reports the information name should be revealed. You see it here all the time. They want to know the name of the person. I am not for this myself. However, some HOA's do run this way.

Myself don't believe this should be discussed on a social media platform. It's a HOA meeting thing. Something that should be discussed at a HOA meeting. Plus we would not mention names just lot numbers if need be. Now to me if it's a violation, the important part is taking care of it. Not who reported it.

A HOA does NOT keep your property value "Up". It ONLY keeps your home attractive to potential buyers. Property Values are based on real numbers. What houses sell/foreclose for of similar size and options in last 6 months. What your property and those around you look like influences potential buyers to purchase a home at value.

So I would not get caught up in the "Home Value" argument. Instead, I would get into what can I do to convince my neighbors to keep their homes looking good so people want to buy in.

An attractive home will appraise higher than an unattractive home. With multiple people interested in the home, you can ask more than the appraisal.....

Oh Never mind.

No an ATTRACTIVE house has just an ATTRACTION to pay the price the seller is asking. Reality is that home value is based on REAL numbers or "comps". What are the houses in your area "comping" for? You can have a nice 3 bedroom 2 bath with a landscaped yard but if the house next door is a foreclosure... Then your home is going to be "comped" to that house.

Now granite you may live in a nice neighborhood and the homes are well kept. That means the homes will then most likely sell at the asking price. That doesn't mean it's home value was increased or maintained. It just means it's a house attractive enough that one will pay the price your asking.

Larry, does your HOA have a policy about how residents' complaints are handled? We have a form resident fill out about alleged violations. It says their privacy will be protected. Once staff checks out the complaint, the rest is the HOA's action, not the residents'.

But have you thought about complaining at HOA meetings to the entire board? Why is it only the prez who does (or doesn't) take care of these alleged violation.

I agree that cars parked on the grass can be very unsightly. I agree that if more ann a couple property values could be affected. But it depends on your setting. Douglas, for instance, lives in a rural area, I believe. Is there a rule against it?? If so, ask at a board meeting why the rule isn't enforced. Get some neighbors to support you in your quest to improve your HOA's appearance.

Our policy has been that no matter how notified of a violation the BOD will look at it and if it is valid, the BOD President becomes the complainer.

Our method is we submit to the HOA Management company and they notify the BoD if the complaint is valid or not without disclosing the complainant information. This is to ensure a stable healthy community.

I do not report about small things, that is a waste of everyones time. Just like anyone in the HOA has a right to do. Examples would be: Junk Cars / Renters not aware of the CCR's Swapping/Pulling motors in their front yards / Grass 2ft plus tall that hasn't been mowed in 6 months / people fucking in the pool .. yes you read that right, our home backs up the pool area so we see most everything that happens during the day and when people jump the fence at night.

Anyways, We have 85 homes here and only 10+ or so are acting like high school kids but they all live right next to me so I'll just ignore it and hope it gets better.
