Hi Everyone, We own a HOA management company that manages over 1,700 homes combined with condos and single family homes. We've been using QuickBooks for over 10 years now. Since we are continuing to grow, we are in the market of a new management and financial software. Can you please give me your recommendations? We greatly appreciate your time.

Have a nice day, Katrina

Katrina,

Welcome to the forum.

Posting rules prevent us from specific names. However, specific recommendations can be made via email if one is provided.

Personally we only use spreadsheets, word processing and paper files to self manage our 130 lot community. The concern with using any software is who comes after you. Will they own a computer that runs the program, will the program have to be purchased again, will the individual be computer savy or intimidated by new programs?

As an example: We had one individual who took the time and energy to create a database for all the architectural records. When that person no longer served, the data was included with the paper records that were turned over. The data was clearly marked what it was. Everyone who served after her had no idea how to use the data. When I served on the committee, I realized what it was but it was now 10 years out of date. However, I was at least able to utilize the data to see what requests were approved or rejected. The committee, chose to only utilize paper documents from that point forward so this issue wouldn't be an issue again. We do scan the documents to pdf files for backup.

Our management company uses Peachtree Complete Accounting. I know that some management companies use TOPS.

Thank you so much for the comment on rules. How do I edit my post? I can't find an EDIT. Thank you again.

I started with HOA specific software right at the very beginning.

If you shoot me an email at [email protected], I will share my recommendation.
