Our pool rules are if you plan on having more than 15 person including the Member and their family it would consitute a private party... A $100.00 refundable fee and the pool is yours for the day IF no one has already reserved it... We only had this happen once and no hard feelings as we all know in advance the pool is closed for a private party....Same for our Lodge and game room.............LindaC

We allow one guest per resident and they must be accompanied by that resident. Thus if there are four people living in a house, they are allowed to bring up to four guests. No private parties are allowed.

A comment on Linda's "more than 15 makes a party" rule: we have at least one family in the neighborhood who would break that rule without bringing any guests. Thankfully the older kids are gone most of the time and the whole family doesn't typically show up all at once. I don't think our poor little pool could take it.

DwightT.... I know the feeling about large families...We have one here with 11 brothers and sisters PLUS their children....But at least our HOA Pool can accompany them.....It's a LARGE olympic size pool nicely kept and a kiddie pool for the little ones...A shower at pool side and then a full male/female cabana bath house with showers etc....Nice set up indeed... All in a country setting...So peaceful...LindaC

I'm jealous. Our pool is about the size that you would typically see in an individual homeowner's back yard. It is nicely landscaped and there is a pool side shower plus male/female restrooms, but the pool and deck is still way too small for a community of 313 homes in an area that often has large families. It doesn't take much for it to be overcrowded.

Don't get me wrong - I'm not complaining about the large family. There were 14 kids in my father's family, and several of them had large families as well. The annual family reunion is "interesting". I just wish the size of the pool was more suited to the size of the community.

DwightT--- I come from a family of EIGHT myself...had our own built in friends growing up....We have 299 (3) acre parcels - 178 homes and of that I belive at last count 150 were full time....Our pool deck could easily accomodate say 60 plus but do like to let large parties of 15 or more reserve pool for privacy..Like I said has never been a problemm.....This pool/deck /lodge/cabana room/exercise room./tennis courts have all been here since 1974....Well maintained etc.... I am actually planning an end of summer back to school dance for all the kids here and the young at heart adults to "reward" the kids for being so good this summer...No vandalism, no fires , etc.......I think when the bigger kids moved so did all the problems......Should be fun.gonna have food music with a dj and face painting etc....It's the least we can do for these kids...And to make it more interesting I dont even have kids but for some reason these kids out here like me....go figure......Have a great weekend............LindaC

Frank, there are two types of "guests" who could have access to a pool in my community.

First are those mentioned in the above posts - family, friends, etc of an owner - of which we charge $3 for one day pool passes, with ten guest passes free to the owner at the beginning of the season.

Second, and often called "associate memberships" are passes available to some of the surrounding communities in our area. They pay a set fee for use of the pool during the season that is determined by the Board.

One point that I did not see mentioned here, is the responsibility/liability of the guests. For either set-up listed above our pool requires an application which includes a "pool rules" document, consent form, and emergency contact information forms, all of which must be signed and on file with the M/C, prior to any type of passes being distributed.
