Does anyone know any shortcut on how to remove thick wax without disturbing or damaging the floor?

Emma,

This is sort of the wrong forum for diy info.

In the military it was done with a lot of scrubbing.

Very carefully. With a single-edge razor blade, good light, and magnification. If the wax penetrated into the laminate through some sort of porosity, though, all bets are off. Maybe a heat gun would soften it up without damaging the laminate.

I agree with Tim, also, that while a friendly bunch, this isn't exactly a home repair site

Something easier and safer... Use an iron and a slightly dampened dish rag. You may use steam setting and a dry rag. A wash cloth or Kitchen towel works best. Just place the iron on top of the rag and heat up. Don't make it too hot but enough to be able to wipe or absorb the wax.

My dog knocked over a candle. It spilled onto the carpet and sprayed everywhere. Got a dresser and a plastic organizer. Oh and a better question is "How do you get wax off a dog's hair?". Which ended up on BOTH dogs! The answer - Warm water and lots of gentle pulling...

What kind of wax? From a spilled candle? From repeated applications of commercial applied floor wax?

Home Depot sells commercial grade floor stripper products, you will just need to rent the low speed buffer and get the appropriate stripping pad.
