Good afternoon,

This is my first post, and I am hoping for a good response. I am apart of a great group of people on the advisory board, and I am looking for a command tree, or divisions of dutys on paper. We are trying to divide up the responsbilities up so the leaders of our group know what they are accountable for. So, I am asking for examples of command trees, or division markers that I can look at as a guide. Please email them to [email protected].

Thanks,

Ron

RonM2: Have you referred to your association's bylaws; it should list the association officers/Board members to be elected along with the roles and responsibilities.

Also, refer to your state's Planned Community Act, or Condo Act.

Can explain what your advisory board is? Is it a board of directors? Is it a committee?

If it is a board of directors, are you asking what are their responsibilities? Your post is a bit vague and I am sure people want to help, but might not understand what you are requesting.

Even though our by-laws describe the duties of the board members and the officers, the wording is very vague and does not address any specific responsibilities other than to "lead the meetings" (president), fill in when president not available (vice president), responsible for the association files (secretary), collect dues and pay bills (treasurer).

I'd kinda like to see some more details around these roles and the entire board myself.

They wouldn't need to be part of the by-laws, but would actually be adopted by resolution regarding the functions, roles and responsibilities of the board and officers.

I have several documents from CAI that were given to me that are reasonably good. I don't know exactly where they came from, but here is a place that you might want to check out. There are roles and responsiblities for most of the board offices. I think you either have to be a CAI member or pay a fee for the information. http://www.caionline.org/excerpts/index.cfm
