So I have been put in charge of setting up a community website and would like some advice fro some good software companies who can handle that. Our budget is 100 dollars a month at most.
Also can you guys share your website by chance so I can check it out!?

Do you have a management company? What software do they use? Do they offer a website option.

If you email me at [email protected], I can share a couple of companies.

And don't forget the sponsors of this board! No, I don't work for them, but they do have an ad for a two-month free trial - you might want to contact them and ask for referrals you can look at.

Benedict,

Posting rules keep us from mentioning names of companies.
You may want to provide an email for others to send you those names.

At $100 per month, you should be able to find something but will likely need to do most of the work yourself.

Keep in mind that there are two parts with websites -
The domain name (costs to register)
Hosting (costs for a company to have it on their system)

I know two companies that for $450.00 or under per year, you can have a great web site that is hosted and has security systems built in. Two companies also offer secure portals for Board members.

The annual registration fee for a domain is under $15.00 per year.

If you wanted to have your own hosting service, that can be done for under $100.00 a year. The advantage is you control your email addresses that you could setup. All that is needed is to have the domain name pointed to the website company of your choice.

Ben

I say a website should not be a portal for discussion, arguments, bytching, etc. It should be informational about what is happening. It should not be a two way discussion.

Here is a link to a list of Associations within Fairfax County VA.
Those Associations with blue text have websites accessible by clicking on their name.

Some very interesting reading. One HOA had to elect directors by written secret ballot, yet at the annual meeting, the person was elected by a hand vote of those present.
