In our 36 unit Condo Association, a number of owners rent their units (at current count 14).

How does one an Association best interact with the renters? On one hand, the Association is not their landlords and on the other hand, it is in the Association's best interest that the renters are informed of and abide by the rules as well.

Should we send them newsletters as well as their respective owners?

What do other's do about renters?

Thanks.

Renters are not members of your HOA and shouldn't have any formal HOA rights. The owner should insure that renters abide by your rules. Any violations should be sent to the owner to resolve.

Marc, Even though I agree with John, we send renters the newsletter as well. We want them to be as informed as possible to help assure they are abiding by the R&R's. We will not, however, intervene between a homeowner (whether the renters owner or another owner) and a renter; only between owners.
