Hi All,

We are looking for a good, reliable management company in the Phoenix/Scottsdale, AZ area. Our present company is not acceptable. Could someone please give us a reference.

Check your local chapter of CAI, I'm sure they will have good references.

Hi Gloria and All,

We did not check, this time, with the various organizations. I suppose it is like a job reference, nothing derogatory will be mentioned. We prefer personal experience.

P.S. We hired an attorney regarding open meeting laws and architectural committes. The HOA and MC can be taken to court in Arizona; but it would cost money. Our goal was never to sue the HOA.

Hiring an MC takes time and due diligence, interviewing them checking references, creating a request requirement of duties and what the board wants in a MC. The board should seek out a few MC's and speak with each one, find out about their company. Check out the references. Ask for some of the property addesses, go visit them and see what they look like. Find out who the Principles are, what qualifications do they have, are they licensed, bonded...Good luck in your endeavors.

We use
R & R Property Management. As the HOA watchdog I have had some run-ins with them but nothing that hasn't been ironed out and they always seem to be receptive to constructive critism.
