Our association has the worst property management company you can get. They absolutely do not answer calls or emails. Very rude and do not perform the duties we are paying them to do. They refuse to provide the residents with the meeting minutes. And when we ask the board about it all we get is 'there the cheapest company so oh well" So my question is there some type of governing agency that regulates property management companies?

You get what you pay for. However, your Board is part of the problem as they are not addressing these issues with the MC. Therefore, even if you force a change in MC, your Board makes the decisions and you may still have the same problems.

Short term solution, see:

Office of the Condominium Ombudsman if you live in a condominium complex.

FL Dept. of Business and Professional Regulation

Long term solution, gather support and replace those currently serving on the Board with those who will insist the MC complies with requests. Perhaps you will be willing to serve.

Thank you Tim for answering. I would love to serve on the board but everything is done so secretive. I don't even know when elections are. We only have Annual meetings. Other residents are fed up with this company and boards lack of communication.
