In March, one of the 6 units in our complex was purchased. 3-4 women moved in that day. Since then, we have figured out the living situation of these “tenants”. We live in a tourist area and see a lot of “seasonal” workers come each summer. There are different women now, than the original group. We know they are seasonal, earlier this week a truck picked up numerous barrels from them. The truck must have had over 100 barrels in it, so lots of people were shipping barrels out of the country. They will probably be here until after the labor day weekend.
Do we have any chance to reclaim our property from the flop house he is now running? The by-laws require him to provide a lease and contact info for each resident, although we have heard nothing from him. There are various other violations to our bylaws that he has also ignored. A lease isn’t worth much when the landlord and occupant agree to this short term living arrangement.
We all have witnessed at different times, a car pull into the lot and one of the women will run out with a handful of cash. I’m sure it isn’t a drug deal, but it could look like that, it is probably them paying for their weekly rent.
